CUMBERLAND COUNTY BOARD OF ZONING APEALS
PUBLIC HEARING
The Cumberland County Board of Zoning Appeals will meet on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., in the Circuit Courtroom of The Cumberland County Courthouse, at 17 Courthouse Circle, Cumberland, Virginia 23040, to conduct a public hearing pursuant to Virginia Code Section 15.2-2204 to consider the following item and take action in furtherance thereof:
BZA 25-01: Oak Grove Church: The Oak Grove Cemetery association request a variance from the requirements of Section 74-786 of the Cumberland County Zoning Ordinance to allow for a lot line adjustment between two parcels where such adjustment will cause one conforming parcel to become nonconforming, and will be under the minimum lot area requirements for the A-2, agricultural, general zoning district. The Cemetery Association also requests a variance from Section 74-136 of the Cumberland County Zoning Ordinance to allow for the front setback of TM# 43-A-2 to be less than the 100 feet required by this section. The subject property has a physical address of 637 Cartersville Road, Cumberland, Virginia, 23040, and is identified as Tax Map 43-A-2, consisting of 2.48 acres, and Tax Map 43-A-3, consisting of 0.50 acres. These parcels are in election district 2 and are zoned A-2 agricultural.
