Cumberland VA – Cumberland County and its Public Utilities department has been awarded $400,423 through a funding agreement with the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation. The agreement is non-matching and will fund the installation of generators for five of its sewer pumps stations.
The County’s application was completed and submitted in the spring of 2025 as part of a request for application process from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation related to riparian and water quality related projects in the Cumberland area. The funding is related to a June 2024 requirement issued by the Justice Department to the former Envigo RMS, LLC and its violations of the Clean Water Act.
The pump station generator project will begin in late summer 2025 and anticipated to be completed by Spring 2026 and will not impact operations.
